English teacher & Children's Author
Rebecca Driscoll is a children's author and secondary English teacher with a passion for raising awareness about mental health and wellbeing within school. In 2023, Rebecca published her debut novel 'The Tale of Dif the Dragon': a fantasy quest novel aimed at KS2 and KS3 readers but with a deeper, allegorical meaning on gender roles and emotional intelligence. As an English teacher, Rebecca Driscoll has overseen KS3 curriculums - focusing on addressing gaps in education and promoting a love of literature. In particular, Rebecca has focused her attention on closing the vocabulary gap, creating a sense of belonging in every classroom and how we can create greater emotional intelligence in students through literature. As a writer, Rebecca has used her platform to encourage students to get off screens and to connect with each other through arts and crafts, baking and reading activities. Her book's Instagram page: @difsdiary offers a range of activities to offer alternatives to video games and social media. Through her work as KS3 lead, she aims to provide practical support to teachers and school leaders to enhance wellbeing, promote a more inclusive working environment and maximise the potential of the whole school community.
