HS Design and Innovation Teacher
Korea International School
I am an enthusiastic computer science educator with a passion for uncovering timeless throughlines in an ever-changing technological era. It brings me great joy to craft interdisciplinary learning experiences that cultivate a culture of thinking for myself, my colleagues and our students. I have been teaching for 15 years, adapting to a range of roles including digital coach, instructor of IB and AP computer science courses as well as curriculum designer within my local schools and globally. I recently participated in the development of the IB DP Digital Society curriculum which will launch in the fall of 2022. I also create and lead learning experiences for both adult and student learners using multimodal technologies. I believe as Computer Scientists we: 1. look to meet human needs efficiently 2. trace stories of ideas to participate in developing their next iterations 3. uncover patterns and trends to make informed decisions 4. store data to access, manipulate and share in creative ways 5. are empowered to take action for impact within our circles of influence As a woman in the world of computer science, I intentionally look for ways to creatively transform the complexity and perceived chaos of this subject into order and beauty that brings joy and benefit to myself and others within my circles of influence. I hope to inspire all learners (both young and adult) to take action for impact by discovering innovative ways to meet human needs efficiently.
