Aristotle once said, “Educating the mind, without educating the heart, is no education at all.” My personal educational philosophy encompasses this view and I truly believe that, as educators, we are responsible for developing the whole child. It is our job to find out what young people are good at and what motivates them. We need to nurture their skills as well as giving them the confidence to gain some measure of success, be it academic or otherwise, in order that they feel that they are making positive contributions as local, national and global citizens.
