Learning and Teaching Lead: Curriculum Maths and Individuals and Societies Raha KCC at Raha International School

Raha International School - Khalifa City Campus

I am a passionate and enthusiastic MYP/DP Maths leader who believes that inquiry is at the heart of all mastery in Maths! My main passion is authentic assessment and ensuring that my students not only question the learning but showcase their understanding in a variety of unique ways. If its a podcast, VR, presentation or video it does not matter, to me its more important they understand the rubrics and the expectations clearly. I work incredibly hard to promote student advocacy in my teaching practice and also promote this ethos within the department. I was privileged enough to spearhead the Maths department at Raha International School KCC and provide outstanding teaching and learning for the students and staff. I have experience in writing creative assessments, building strong community relationships and running parent sessions to help with Maths Anxiety and authentic assessment. IB Mathematics is an incredibly curriculum to teach when it is done correctly and I have spent the last 5 years in IB absorbing all the outstanding teaching around me and modeled this into my own practice and leadership. In leadership I have experience in student engagement and also managing and small team of staff in the department. I am privileged to be coaching other staff on the MYP and how to ensure all of our students gain the best MYP Maths experience possible.
