Kirsty Dewhirst

Assistant Principal, Head of Grade, Teacher

I have 20+ years of experience being a teacher and leader of academically, socially and culturally diverse groups of learners from the ages of 4 - 12 in the UK, Australia and Singapore, and I am good at my job! I am experienced in delivering a range of national and international programs including national curricula, the International early Years, Primary and Middle Years Curriculum, Singapore Maths and The Virtues Project. I have been fortunate to travel widely and embrace moments and opportunities, making memories to treasure. What do I value most in a job? Relationships. I believe strong and genuine relationships are the foundation of success at every level of an organisation; with learners, care givers, colleagues and as leaders. I want to be known and to know others, be both inspired and inspiring. I recognise that ‘a person who feels appreciated will always do more than expected’ and use this as an essential part of my leadership mantra. I also believe in the power of vulnerability. I am highly organised, creative and adaptable. Compassionate, empathetic and a big picture thinker. I like working with others for a joint purpose and especially enjoy bringing my passion for photography into whatever I am doing. Challenge doesn’t faze me, it drives me, which in turn allows me to drive others. I am at my happiest when I am contributing to the happiness and success of those around me.
