Ponteland High SchoolWith over 25 years of experience in education, I am a passionate and innovative teacher of English and Media currently working at Ponteland Community High School. I have a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Practitioner Enquiry from Newcastle University, and I have led and trained teachers in various settings and levels, from mentoring ITT students through to coaching and training experienced staff. I have developed and applied skills in artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI to enhance my teaching and learning practices, as well as to inspire and challenge my students. In my previous role as the Head of Languages and Cultures Faculty at the Prince of Wales Island International School, I was part of a team that achieved outstanding results despite the covid-19 pandemic. Outside of school, I am an avid outdoorsman and a martial arts practitioner who cares deeply about the environment and the community.
