Abigail Alexis-Olubuyide (AAO) is a passionate international headteacher who leads her school community through her hands-on and transformational approach. After years of working within the education sector--from teaching assistant to headteacher, in the UK, UAE and China--this range of experience has given her the unique and impactful insights she has as a leader. Described by staff as a 'people's leader', Abigail's vision is to develop the whole child, the whole staff member and the whole community. She leads by example and personally invests her time to develop those around her. Abigail believes that high performance is achievable by all when paired with the right support and the right amount of effort. This approach ensures that no child, or adult, gets left behind. Abigail is passionate about ensuring that equal and equitable practices are in place to ensure every child can access a robust and rigorous curriculum without barriers. She believes this must be underpinned by a conducive school culture and a professional learning programme that prioritises best practices within the field. In addition to this, Abigail's Master's dissertation focused on how schools adequately prepare students for the future - another crucial focus strategically and consistently woven into the threads of her school ethos. Governed by self-growth, Abigail is keen to ensure that, like herself, all staff members are lifelong learners and work in an environment where risk-taking, autonomy and agency are celebrated. In 2023, Abigail wrote two books 'Seven Days to a Stronger, Better YOU' and ‘Activating Your Inner Warrior’. Abigail believes that better people make better leaders, employees and citizens; therefore, humans must continuously strive to improve. In her two books, Abigail highlights tools and techniques that can transform people into a better version of themselves. Abigail Alexis-Olubuyide has certification in Counselling, Neuro-linguistic Programming, Life Coaching, a BSc (with honours) in Psychology, a Masters (with Distinction) in Educational Leadership and Management and the National Professional Qualification of Headship (NPQH). Abigail is a doctoral candidate currently in her third year of an EdD programme in Organisational Leadership, specialising in positive leadership.
