Ann Lautrette

Deputy Head - Taipei European School British Secondary and High School

Taipei European School-Secondary Campus

I am an experienced educator, leader and learner with a passion for teaching, curriculum design and technology. I have spent many years in International Schools in the Middle East, Asia and Europe. I am committed to student agency, inquiry based learning, international-mindedness and the IB Programmes. My strengths lie in curriculum design - I believe in interdisciplinary, contextualised, flexible learning, horizontal and vertical alignment and responsive and inclusive assessment. I believe that curriculum and pastoral care go hand in hand and I have developed and led an innovative approach to the IBDP core, combining Theory of Knowledge, CAS, and the development of Approaches to Learning (ATLs) with linked Personal Social and Health Education in holistic units of learning. I have also created an integrated, vertically aligned secondary pastoral programme based on the UNESCO Comprehensive Sexuality Education Framework. I am a certified Common Sense Media educator, Google Certified Educator and I have completed the Certificate of Educational Technology and Integrated Learning (CoETaIL). I strongly believe in the importance of digital citizenship, digital skills, and the redefinition of education using technology. I am a published author of several articles, contributory chapters and a full length book: The Co-Constructed Classroom.
