As an IT Developer turned Educator, with over 24 years of experience in both the IT and Education sectors, I have witnessed this evolution firsthand — an inspiring journey where innovation and education have walked hand in hand.
From Chalk to Click – The Technological Revolution in Schools
Gone are the days when a chalkboard and a duster defined classroom teaching. Today, schools are powered by Smart LED Panels, Interactive Digital Boards, and AI-enabled Learning Platforms. These digital tools have made teaching more engaging and learning more visual, interactive, and student centric. Lessons that once required imagination are now brought to life through 3D animations, simulations, and virtual demonstrations — making abstract concepts tangible.
The integration of EdTech startups and innovative learning platforms has further transformed the educational ecosystem. Startups focusing on adaptive learning, gamified content, and personalized learning analytics have empowered teachers to tailor lessons according to the pace and style of each learner.
The Role of EdTech, Startups, and Innovation
India’s vibrant EdTech ecosystem has been instrumental in reshaping modern schooling. Platforms such as Byju’s, Khan Academy, and many indigenous startups have made quality education accessible even in remote areas. The Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) initiative, launched under the Atal Innovation Mission, has sparked a culture of innovation and creativity among students. Schools have also started integrating Entrepreneurship and Critical Thinking as key components of the curriculum, aligning with NEP 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF).
